How old do I have to be to wear contact lenses?

The average age people usually get contact lenses is 13, but it has been shown that some younger children are responsible enough to wear and maintain contact lenses. Successful lens wear depends more on responsibility and attitude than age. Speak with your Optometrist or Ophthalmologist to determine if your child is a good candidate for contact lenses.

PopularLens.com obtains its goods from reliable contact lens companies. All the contact lens boxes are factory sealed and free of defects. The contact lens box would serve as proof that the contact lenses are authentic. If we still did not manage to convince you, you could verify with the manufacturer whether are they authentic.

The expiry dates of the contact lenses vary depending on the brand. They usually vary from 2 years to 5 years.

Not likely. With proper fitting, contact lenses should stay in place almost all the time. Even on that rare occasion when a contact lens moves out of place, it usually stays in your eye until you move it back.

NO! It is definitely not a good idea to try on or wear someone else’s contact lenses. The sharing of contact lenses may result in the spread of micro-organisms that can be detrimental to the health of your eye. You should only wear contact lenses prescribed specifically for you under the close supervision of a qualified eye care professional.

Ever heard of contact lenses melting over a barbeque? Don’t worry, this is fake news. The lens material can only decompose at temperatures much higher than the boiling point of water.

You should only sleep in your contacts or wear them for extended periods of time if you have consent from your Optometrist or Ophthalmologist. Please consult your Optometrist or Ophthalmologist before sleeping in your contacts to make sure that it is alright for you to do so.

Not likely. Contact lenses can be easily removed using the method Optometrists recommended. All it takes is practice and patience.

When prescribed and worn properly, most people can wear contact lenses for years with little or no problems. However, you should ALWAYS consult your Optometrist or Ophthalmologist at the first hint of discomfort.

Such contact lens-related problems can occur, but they’re unlikely. Most common eye health issues are caused by poorly fitted lenses, or by not taking care of the lenses like you should. If you do experience any unusual eye discomfort or changes in your vision, remove your lenses and visit your Optometrist or Ophthalmologist immediately.
